The Nature Of Digital Marketing
When we talk about Digital Marketing, we’re talking about a structured, methodical way of INCREASING SALES:
Digital Marketing has 3 primary functions:
- Build brand awareness
- Create consumer demand
- Inform consumers of your ability to satisfy that demand
As a business owner, your digital marketing campaign should be based on the old fashioned economics of demand and supply. Here’s the plan in a nutshell:
- Stimulate a consumer need
- Satisfy the need
- Create the demand
- Satisfy the demand
Q: What is the ultimate goal?
A: Do more business. Sell more products and/or services.
Facebook and Twitter are important digital marketing tools when it comes to developing brand awareness. They serve as forums where your potential and current customers discuss their lives, including their products and services they like. How many times have you seen a Facebook or Twitter post where someone mentions the fantastic burger they just had or the awesome spin class they just left? Wow, your customer (or maybe your competitor’s customer) has just stimulated a consumer need AND created a demand in 140 characters or less.
So what happens next? Well, someone who read that post is going to trot on over to that burger joint on “Any Street” Ft. Lauderdale, and type a similar post of their own Facebook page. The process repeats…
Remember the plan (we cannot repeat it because of SEO police) and stick to it.
